Configuration backup is a process of saving your existing network configuration files and creating a repository with all versions stored in incremental versions. Configuration backups are mostly encrypted before being stored in the database, to ensure high security.

Step 1Open a web browser and visit for MAX routers: 192.168.50.1 and for Balance routers: 192.168.1.1 .

Step 2: Login to the web admin using your login credentials. The default credentials are username "admin" password "admin" however the password may have been changed as the first time you login to the device it requires you to set a new password.

Step 3Go to SystemConfiguration.

Step 4: Select Download under the Download Active Configurations section.

Step 5: Save this file in a safe place in the event you need to restore your settings

Peplink recommends users to perform configuration backup regularly, especially before making any configuration changes.
